Me te Arohina o te whānau e te Rangatira

Moe mai rā e te Tuahine Takutai Moana Natasha ‘Tarsh’ Kemp ONZM

Ka nui te pouri i te mōhiotanga a ANZASW i te matenga o tētahi rangatira nui, a Tarsh Kemp. Moe mai ra te Rangatira. He tokoiti noa ng kaihaka e kai ngākau ana ki te hauora me te oranga Māori. I whakapau kaha a Tarsh ki tōna iwi, ka ngaro ia hei Wahine toa, hei Rangatira.

Her passion was demonstrated when she was at the Manurewa marae, where she stood strong in the face of systems that often challenge us as Māori. She worked tirelessly for our future, and her mahi within Te Pāti Māori and Parliament is a testament to her drive and commitment.

Tarsh was a staunch supporter of the social services sector, recognising its vital role in uplifting whānau and communities. She championed the intersection of social work, health, and Māori development, always advocating for systemic change that honoured tikanga and mana motuhake.

Her advocation in Tamaki Makaurau, especially in fostering collaboration across Marae was truly remarkable, particularly given the independent nature of each marae and the shared focus on seeking the best for our tamariki, ngā Rangatira mō apōpō.

Her mahi with Hip hop and dedication to Rangatahi was inspiring, culminating in her being appointed an Officer of the NZ Order of Merit in 2021, in recognition of her unwavering service, passion and love for her people.

Moe mai rā e te Mareikura, te Rangatira o te motu.
Kua riro koe i te pō, engari ka mau tonu tō mana ki tēnei ao.
Haere, haere, haere atu rā.
