The Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (ANZASW) stands in solidarity with the Irish Association of Social Workers' call for the immediate release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a Palestinian doctor unlawfully detained while serving his community.
 
We are deeply concerned about the ongoing threats to the health and lives of healthcare and social care professionals in Gaza and the violations of their fundamental rights. Protecting those on the frontlines of humanitarian crises is essential to upholding justice, dignity, and international law.
