Aotearoa New Zealand Social Workers' Day is a fantastic day to celebrate and highlight the incredible mahi social workers do throughout the motu. Join ANZASW online from 12:00 noon to 12:30 PM for kai and kōrero or check out the Social Workers’ Day events to get involved with in your local area!
Join the ANZASW member support team online on Aotearoa New Zealand Social Workers' Day 2024 at 12 noon for a shared lunch and a chance to celebrate the incredible mahi social workers do throughout the motu.
Aotearoa New Zealand Social Workers' Day is held on the third Wednesday of September each year. This year it is on 18 September 2024.
We encourage you to organise a celebration, whether in your workplace or in your local region.
This years' theme is in recognition of the 60th anniversary of ANZASW!
“Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua. I walk backwards into the future with my eyes fixed on my past."
It speaks to the interconnectedness of our past, present, and future, reminding us that our journey forward is deeply rooted in the legacy of the past 60 years. This whakataukī invites us to reflect on our achievements, honor the contributions of those who came before us, and envision a future where social justice, human rights, and dignity continue to guide our path.
