Fair Way is expanding its pool of Voice of Child (VOC) Practitioners and is seeking experienced professionals across Aotearoa who are passionate about ensuring tamariki are heard during the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) mediation process.

As a VOC Practitioner, you will meet with tamariki, support them to safely share their views and experiences, and present these perspectives at mediations in line with the Family Dispute Resolution Act 2013 and Fair Way’s practice standards. This is contracted, as-needed work, ideal for practitioners who value flexibility and meaningful engagement with whānau.

We are looking for people who:

• Are child-centred practitioners and have experience working with tamariki of different ages and developmental stages. 
• Hold relevant professional registration (e.g., social work, counselling, psychology, mediation, or related fields).
• Can communicate confidently with tamariki, caregivers and mediators.
• Work independently while following structured processes and seeking advice when required
• Are comfortable managing documentation and case notes in a digital system. 
• Attend regular professional supervision. 

Key aspects of the role:

• Creating a safe, supportive environment for tamariki to express their views and experiences. 
• Meeting with tamariki and accurately representing their perspectives with informed assent.
• Coordinating with mediators and caregivers to arrange meetings.
• Preparing and completing required documentation in Fair Way’s case management system.
• Attending the start of mediation to share the view of the tamariki views to parents/caregivers
